Position Type: Full Time Union employee – 30 hours a week during school year
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Transport Older Adults roundtrip to the Center, on trips, and to medical appointments.
- Transports Children from Local Schools to the Y’s afterschool program.
- Ensures that vehicles are in working order.
- Monitors maintenance schedule and maintains communication with service station.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Pick up and deliver clients to designated destinations.
- Keep vehicle clean as directed.
- Maintain vehicle in good operating condition, including gas, oil and tires.
- Pick up and return vehicle to appropriate parking space.
- Inspect vehicle daily and report any operational or structural defects immediately.
- Interface with mechanic when problems arise
- Keep daily, passenger logs, gasoline and mileage records.
- Complete other paper work as directed.
- Collect contributions confidentially and report total income.
- Comply with agency protocol in emergency situations.
- Other related assignments at the discretion of the Senior Center Director.
SKILLS:
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle Maintenance
- Ability to maintain good driving record

- A valid New York State Class B Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsements.
- Commercial driving experience.
- Clean Driving Record or Explanation with Point Reduction.
- Cautious and Safe Driver.
